金发美眉的野心

Chapter 48 Error

Jake frowned. He didn\'t understand what was going on.

"You have not lost in six matches, and the seventh match was against the Holy Paladin, was it not?" the woman asked.

Jake nodded, while Myriad Arrows just looked at Jake with his jaw dropped.

Not only did Jake win more than him, but the one he lost against had an Epic Class? Of course there was nothing wrong with losing!

"Forgive us, but there seems to be a mistake! You were not supposed to be matched against the Holy Paladin! That paladin was supposed to be assigned to arena number three! She was an Iron Ticket Holder! You faced the wrong opponent." the woman said with a high pitched voice, standing up.

"I see. So the system has something wrong with it? That makes sense. I did not understand how I lost." Jake nodded. He suddenly thought of something though.

"But I bet on myself, and yet I was matched against someone that was not supposed to be my opponent. I lost the chance to win a huge amount of money!" Jake said, smiling.

The woman was flustered, not knowing what to do. She was the perfect definition of a new worker who did not know what to do on her first day, and an angry customer had just arrived.

"I will go call the Colosseum manager," she said as she turned around to run somewhere without even waiting for Jake\'s response.

"Wow. Looks like you can get something out of this!" Myriad Arrows chuckled.

"If I can get a few hundred gold, it would be perfect. But the odds of me winning six times is around one to fifty, but the odds for me to win ten times was one to seven hundred. The opponents that I would face in the first six rounds would be weaker than the next four rounds, I knew that much. Still, I should get like a thousand coins cause I had a chance to win at least the seventh round." Jake said.

"I have no idea how you calculate the odds of winning. That\'s something that I don\'t want to get into. All that I care about is that we can get money. The guild needs it. Do you realize the blackhole of resources that you created?" Myriad Arrows said.

"You do not understand just how much guilds give back. When we go back to the silversword fields today, you will see just how many beaks we can collect. Even if we do not get the rate we got when we first met, we can still earn a few gold off of them and that\'s on the first day." Jake smiled.

He looked forward, because the woman was coming back, and this time, there was a slightly old man who was calmly walking along with her.

Jake solemnly looked at that man.

Sure, he was the manager of this giant place. But that was not the important part. It was that Jake could not see the level on top. And for sure, this man had a level in the triple digits and not the low hundreds.

He was strong, and it was going to be important to be respectful to him.

"May I know what the problem is, gentlemen?" the man asked smoothly.

"I bet that I would win ten matches. I would have won seven thousand gold coins if that went through, and I even got to six wins, but I was matched against an iron token holder? I thought that the colosseum would be devoid of these simple problems." Jake said.

"Forgive us, but we cannot just hand over seven thousand gold coins. There is no guarantee that you can win the ten matches." the middle-aged man shook his head.

"I am not asking you to. I want you to give me the odds for me winning seven matches. I bet ten gold coins, and I was at level eleven when I joined. You can check the logs. The odds that I would win seven matches, if I am not wrong, should be around one to two hundred." Jake said.

"We also cannot assume that you are guaranteed seven wins, sir. The opponent that you could have gotten had a chance to defeat you." The man shook his head again.

"Fifteen hundred gold them. Not asking for too much. It is reasonable. And you are looking at guaranteed prospects who can raise your ceiling." Jake said.

"What are you hinting at, sir?" the man raised his eyebrows.

"Nothing. I am just saying, it is just a matter of time before both of us are going to be Iron Token holders. For a firfirst-timeadiator, how many wins did we get? Do you really expect anything less from us?" Jake asked, smiling.

"Then are you willing to take a loss when needed, sir?"

"For the right price. And my prices are quite exorbitant. Fifty percent. Big battles only. One month later." Jake said.

"That is indeed very steep sir." the man nodded.

"But you will earn a lot from me. That much, you cannot deny." Jake said.

"We will keep in touch then. I guess that this will be an investment into a future prospect then." the man nodded and he took out a bag from thin air. He handed it to Jake, who put it in his inventory without checking it any further.

"This is a good deal. You know how to reach me. You can contact me a week before so that I can tell you what my schedule is like." Jake nodded.

"All of this is only if you can get to the Iron Token as fast as possible." The man said.

"That is what I intend to do right now," Jake said.

"Good." the man nodded as he turned around and walked back at the same pace that he had when he walked in.
